The client wanted a digital learning platform connecting teachers and students through assignments, practice, and assessments. The real challenge was designing for young students in actual classroom settings — particularly those unfamiliar with smartphones. Most existing educational apps were feature-heavy and built around adult assumptions, not the real behavior, attention span, and interaction patterns of children.
We designed a focused mobile experience built around how children actually use an app. The interface uses large tap targets, visual cues over text, and a guided flow that moves students from watching to practicing with minimal decisions. Game-like patterns, rewards, and a class leaderboard turn each session into a small win, while teachers retain full control over assignments and progress.
After redesigning the learning experience, OAKS Student Connect helped students navigate assignments, practice sessions, and lessons more efficiently. The simplified flows, guided interactions, and child-friendly interface improved engagement, reduced missed activities, and encouraged more consistent daily learning.
